Dhokra art is a 4,000-year-old metal casting tradition, one of the oldest art forms in the world. It originates from tribal communities in India, known for their mastery of the lost-wax casting method.
Each piece begins as a wax model, encased in clay, and is transformed into a unique brass or bronze creation. This process ensures that every product is one-of-a-kind, reflecting intricate designs inspired by nature, mythology, and tribal life.
Dhokra art celebrates India's cultural heritage, representing the dedication and skill of artisans who keep this ancient craft alive.

Material | "The Saura style originates from the Saura tribe in Odisha, and is characterised by the abundance of triangular and other geometric figures, vibrant colour schemes, and the humans’ androgynous design (unlike Warli, where male and female is marked distinctly). It holds mention in both the Ramayana and the Mahabharata. Dokra, locally known as “Bharai kaam”, is the art of sculpting brass with the ancient technique of wax casting. The metal is cast into crafted moulds, which the tribals create themselves, in their furnaces and with their specialized tools. Practiced in West Bengal, Orissa and Madhya Pradesh, this metal craft finds different forms of expressions, each art form uniquely different in style and manifestation from the others. Both styles are combined here into a base of utility, as simple as being a wall frame. Along with that, we aspire to adorn your wall with art, to accentuate your life with colour. " |
